I'm starting a new thing called Tidbit Tuesday so I can share the meaningless and not so meaningless tidbits that I gleam from all my magazine reading. As you may have noticed, I have a new icon to go along with my theme day, thanks to the ever talented Elle! She created something I never could of done in a million years. Thanks Dahling!
I've had this idea since the inception of my blog. I mentioned in "My Story" that I a love to read magazines and share a lot of meaningless tidibits. So far that has been reserved for my family. They typically roll their eyes and make fun of me incessantly about it. However, since the kids have gotten older they have slowly come over to the dark side and have come up with their own meaningless or meaningful tidbits to share as well. They usually start off "I know I'm probably going to sound like Mom here, but I found out this........" So I guess it's not so meaningless after all. Ha!
When I was growing up my Grandma (my Mom's Mom) had subscriptions to every magazine under the sun. She had them stacked in knee deep piles under her coffee table, probably had hundreds stored at any one time. Like me, she liked sharing what seemed like meaningless info with all who would listen. Her top source of reference was the National Enquirer, the only place reporting the "real news!" They were ahead of their time in reporting that men were having babies.
As for me I don't keep on hand more than 25 magazines or so at one time and the National Enquirer is not one of them. So no worries! What I will be sharing is little tidbits from Self, Shape, Women's Health, More and the occasional Vanity Fair. I love reading them cover to cover to find out new pieces of info I can rattle off at will. So in that vain, here's to happy sharing!
Today's Tidbit Tuesday: Did you know that drinking 16 ounces of water increases you metabolism by 30%, 30 minutes after drinking it? I didn't! So drink up! If you're like me and hate water, am bored with water and would just assume poke your eyes out rather than drink 8 ounces let alone 16 ounces, try adding little propel grape packets. It's like drinking an ice cold popsicle all day long or poison water if you're my kids. Yummy!
Here's to a new tradition of Tidbit Tuesday! The good thing is I can't see your eyes rolling so I can cluelessly believe that you enjoy hearing the bit of the day! And maybe over time you will come over to the dark side with your own tidbits. If you do come across a meaningless or not so meaningless tidbit yourself shoot me an email at contact me!
