Over the weekend, Julie(the photographer who shot my photos) son was coming back from a ski meet at Fort Hood, Oregon, with his coach and five other ski team members when they were hit head on by a Jeep trying to pass a tractor-trailer on a blind curve. The Coach and Hank(15) took the brunt of the crash. Hank was life-flighted to a Portland Hospital. They believe that he has suffered spinal cord damage and has had three emergency surgeries to fuse his spine back together in three different places. He's fighting!
This is a nightmare for any family, but made more complicated by a blended family. I know when we went through our scare with Little Hart it was comforting for both families to be on the same page and for every single prayer said on her behalf. It not only saved her life, but made her outcome a happy one rather than a devastating one.
I ask everyone reading this to please pray for the same for Hank. A full recovery and for his family to find the strength to come together during this horrible time and speak with one voice.
